PRODUCTION TEAM

Jason & Georgie Parker - Executive Producer/Showrunners

Georgie and Jason both currently teach at prestigious Melbourne girls schools. They are producers of their own Drama School (Launchpad Drama) and freelance as directors, producers and choreographers of school musicals around Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. They started Starbound in 2005 as a wish to create opportunities for young people to learn from industry professionals in a fun and supportive environment. Mostly recently, their productions of The Little Mermaid & Legally Blonde: The Musical (Strathcona Girls Grammar) were nominated for a number of Lyrebird Awards - including Best Choreography, Best Ensemble and Best Production. They are passionate about the benefits of the performing arts for young people.

Tori Wood - Producer (Vocals)/Culture Coordinator

After sitting on the audition panel for many years, Tori has been a vocal supervisor at Starbound since 2019. She studied a Master of Music (Performance Teaching) at The University of Melbourne specialising in musical theatre and contemporary styles, and has been working as a voice teacher for almost a decade. Tori’s greatest passion is working with young performers on musical performances and productions, and she has vocal coached a variety of musicals such as Legally Blonde, Pippin, and The Little Mermaid.

Carly Watson - Resident Director/Producer (Choreography)

Carly has been the choreographic supervisor at Starbound since 2017. Trained in all aspects of dance and musical theatre at May Downs School of Dance, Patrick Studios Australia, and Howard Fine Studios, Carly has a passion for storytelling. Whilst Carly has always loved being on stage, it is the creative side of musical theatre that brings her joy. Carly has been teaching and choreographing since 2013 and has degrees in dance, musical theatre, Pilates, and CSTD tap. Carly was the assistant choreographer of Footloose, West Side Story, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat for MatCo. She has choreographed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and On the Wallaby for HOSA, along with choreographing for Opera Scholars.

Matthew Frampton - Producer (Vocals)/Operations Manager

With a keen passion for developing artistry, storytelling and technique in young singers, Matthew has been a vocal supervisor at Starbound since 2017. His previous studies include a Masters in Secondary Music Education and a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from Monash University. He also received his Licentiate diploma in Musical Theatre from the Australian Music Examinations Board. In 2020, he received the National Excellence in Teaching Award and the Early Career Teacher’s Award for his work in music education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Matthew currently maintains a private vocal studio in addition to his role as Head of Performing Arts at an independent secondary school in Melbourne’s east.

Talent. Tenacity. Teamwork. For the past twenty years, these words have underpinned our mission to inspire and nurture young musical performers. This 2-week intensive experience aims to create a space where young performers are able to pursue their passion for song, drama and dance. Equally, we have continually strived to provide opportunities for them to work with industry professionals and connect creatively with like-minded peers.
